Today ORBTS Treasurer Jane Ann Harris and I started our company bank account. We made deposits just enough to get the account started. Next I will start a GoFundMe to raise money for filing for tax exempt status with the IRS. That will be $275.00. I also want to look at membership management software. I will report what I find to the Board of Directors then share this with all of you. As soon as we get that tax exempt status we will start a membership drive for dues paying members. Of course you don’t have to join to participate with us. We welcome the contributions of everyone.
This is just the beginning. I hope that when Arkansas and Missouri Railroad start to offer excursion trips again I can get a group discount and we can ride the rails together. I am also hoping to go to Little Rock and meet a group of rail enthusiasts for a “Welcome Back Amtrak” Party on May 29th.
And there are more plans. I have reached out to a film professional in the NWA area about making a series of short documentaries about green mass transit. One doc could be about my planned trip to Amtrak’s NorthEast Corridor. I want to rid the Acela Liberty High Speed Train. I also want to film it and share my experience with you.
So hang on, we are about to speed up.
